Turning the Page on the 50 Writing Prompts Series

Sometimes, in business, you have an idea you can’t wait to share with the world. You dive in with enthusiasm and start creating. But as the project continues, you may realize that the results don’t justify the time it takes to keep going.

The 50 Writing Prompts series was one of those ideas.

When I started, I was excited about the blog posts, downloadable workbooks, and social media content I could create. My goal was to share useful writing resources while helping more families discover Stone Bridges Academy.

I confidently committed to 50 prompts instead of 10 or even 20. I created a reusable template for a 10-page workbook, along with three social media posts to accompany each prompt. I had a plan, and I was ready to bring it to life!

But the response I hoped for didn’t materialize. There were no workbook downloads or comments on the posts, and over time, my excitement turned into, “Ugh, time to do another prompt.”

Something I had enjoyed creating had become a chore.

The biggest investment wasn’t money—it was time. Each installment took time and energy that I could put toward teaching, supporting families, or exploring other ideas for SBA. Eventually, I had to ask myself whether continuing was the best use of that time.

I like to finish what I start, so stepping away from a project isn’t easy for me. But I’m learning that a commitment can be reconsidered when it no longer makes sense for my business. I can appreciate the work I’ve done and still decide to move on.

With that in mind, I’m bringing the 50 Writing Prompts series to a close after 16 completed prompts.

Perhaps I’ll revisit it someday. For now, I’m ready to put that time into new ideas and projects that I’m excited to explore.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to read along. If there’s a resource or topic you’d love to see from Stone Bridges Academy, feel free to share. I’d love to hear your ideas!

Warmest regards,
Misses Dee
